It all started with a pioneer, not just anyone though, this guy was special. Phil was a university educated pioneer which was a rarity. Joining the infantry and starting as a private, the army soon found out about his education and was promoted aptly to the front lines as an officier. Near the end of WWI the young officer, frustrated with the front lines joined the airforce with only 13 hours of experience, this change would later lead him to earn the St. George Medal for bravery. After the war, Phil settled to the farming life on Vancouver Island keeping chicken and fish and retired from the bi-plane lifestyle. Letting his years pass his grandson Rodger, frustrated with his own lifestyle of financial districts and timetables on Bay st, took a leasson from grandpa Phil and did what he wanted to do. This bar is a tribute. A tribute to doing what you want, and overcoming limitations. This bar is a pioneer in it’s own right for championing cliches. This is the place where you come not to care, not to worry about judgements and standards.
